Main features of AGAVA Firewall.
- AGAVA Firewall is started directly after installation and protects the computer against network threats. The built-in “Configuration Assistant” will help any user, even an inexperienced user to properly configure network protection.
- Shows the list of all established network connections.
- Allows you to set network access rights for applications and the system.
- You can set access rights both manually and using the special “Learning mode” by answering questions from the firewall about particular network events.
- You can make your computer invisible on the Internet.
- All network events are logged.
- The application inspector monitors changes in modules and allows you to automatically disable network access for applications infected by viruses.
- Detects applications signed with invalid certificates.
- Configuration profiles allow you to create several different configurations for different users or modes.
- You can protect firewall settings with a password.
- In case of a dangerous situation (e.g. an attack or detected virus activity), you can disconnect the computer from the network with a single keystroke.
- Stores statistical data about network activities and shows it in graphical form.
- “Attack Detector” allows you to automatically prevent attempts to break into the system and to infect it with viruses. Also detects and prevents attempts to scan ports, perform DOS attacks, change entries in the ARP table. Also performs stateful filtering protecting the TCP stack.
- “WWW Filter” allows you to filter the content of pages downloaded from the Internet. This subsystem saves traffic and speeds up opening pages in the browser. The banner filter allows you to remove unwanted graphical advertisements by their URLs and image size. You can disable flash movies, block popup windows, and disable scripts on pages entirely.
- “E-Mail Filter” prevents the computer from being accidentally infected after you open a dangerous attachment in your mail client. Attached files from the list of dangerous types (e.g. executable, executing scripts, etc.) are renamed. Thus, you cannot run them without renaming them back, which rules out the possibility of an accidental launch.
- “DNS Cache” stores the list of DNS entries for a certain number of domains and allows you to reduce the time needed to establish network connections.
